PRIVACY STATEMENT

THE POET'S HAVEN GALLERIES

E-mail and URL information is collected at the time of submission for the purpose of allowing readers to contact you.  If you do not wish for this information to be made public, then do not list it when submitting.  It is advised that you give readers a way to contact you.  One possible way to do this without listing an e-mail address here is to set up your own website on a free server (such as Yahoo's Geocities) and include a postal mailing address or an e-mail webform.

When displayed on the site, e-mail addresses are encrypted using JavaScript.  This is to prevent e-mail harvesters, or "spambots," from being able to collect addresses here.  While your e-mail address will be displayed correctly in the browser window, the actual source code contains no recognizable e-mail addresses.  While it is still possible for your e-mail address to be collected by a manual harvester (i.e.: with an actual human copying addresses), most spam lists are generated by webcrawler type programs, scouring the web for what it recognizes as e-mail addresses.

When submitting to the Galleries, your IP address is also logged.  This is for security purposes, and is only accessible by the publisher.

THE POET'S HAVEN FORUMS

The Poet's Haven Forums store a few details about you while you are using the board. The staff takes all reasonable steps to ensure that no unauthorized access to the information is granted.

The following information is collected.

Cookies:
The message board software sets a cookie with the following information:

Member Name: This is so the board can "remember" your username when using the forums.

Password: This is so you don't have to re-type your password every time you wish to make a post or use any of the member-only features of the board.  Your password data is encrypted to prevent unauthorized access.

Last Visit Data: So that you can be made aware of any new posts since your last visit.  This data is stored in a numerical format.

IP Address:
When you register and when you make a post, your IP address is stored on our server. This protects you as a member and us as a company when identifying that the user who posted is indeed authentic. This information will only be used if you misuse any features on the board or in any dispute. The publisher is able to ban anyone's IP address.

Registration Form:
The registration process is designed so that you can keep a unique identity.  The only required parts to the registration process are your Member Name and E-mail Address.  There is an option to keep your email address private if you wish.  The staff will take all reasonable measures to ensure that any information you provide confidentially is kept confidential. You may change this information at any time by editing your profile.

Postings:
The Poet's Haven staff cannot be held responsible for the content of posted messages on the forums.

Message Board Security:
The authors of the message board software have taken all reasonable steps to ensure that there is sufficient security in place to stop external misuse of any and all information that you provide.
